Battery Donut-Shape Weld Bead Inspection with QuellTech Q6
If weld beads are not constructed uniformly and symmetric then it results in increased current density over battery contacts and eventually overheating and severe harm to the system. To prevent this, donut-shaped “Welding Beads” of battery contacts have to be checked with respect to several parameters: volume, center, radius, width, height parameters as well as the absence of defects in circular regions have to be verified.

Aluminium Ingot Dimension Check and Surface Inspection
The deepest point on the raw ingot is calculated and fed into sculping machines. The raw ingot is sculped based on the deepest point on the surface so that less material is wasted. After that several measurements are done to check the quality of the sculped ingot. The top surface and side surfaces are investigated. -
Surface Quality Inspection System
The surface quality inspection system is integrated into a mass-production system that detects any possible defects on the surface. Based on the dimensions of the flaw OK/NOK status is decided. -

Trajectory Extraction for the Robot
The trajectory of the hook is calculated and it is transferred to the robot so that robot can hang items to hook. Q6 with the highest resolution is used for this task. -
Automatic Polishing Application with Kawasaki Robot

The flatness of the metal parts is calculated. The difference between max and min points is measured among 2 Million points representing the surface. Some important parts of such an application are explained using a machine vision platform. -

A bolt is heated with the current until it glows. The Laser Scanner detects the thread on the bolt even when glowing white. Light does not disturb scanners because of differences in wavelengths. -
Gear Wheel Inspection with Laser Scanners
Several features of gear wheels are measured. First, a 3D model is created after the scan. Then for example a circle is fitted in between two teethes and the radius is measured. Also, the height difference between two teeth is measured.

Plastic Mold Part Inspection for Defects using Laser Scanner
Proof of concept for plastic mold part is carried out. Material is cooperative with the scanner. 3D point cloud is acquired by the scanner. The plastic part can be inspected and several measurements can be done using 3D data. -

Transparent Glue Bead Height Measurement
Transparent glue bead's height is measured. And to verify that the scanner is robust enough against transparent surfaces, a comparison on a surface with paper and without is paper made. It has observed that paper which is 100 micrometers is measured correctly. Therefore it has proven that transparent surface does not affect measurements in a negative way. -
Finding Peak or Pit Coordinates on a Profile on Recently Produced Rubber
The client would like to find the peak or pit position of the structure on the surface. The program is developed in C++ with Qt. QuellTech Q5 scanner is used for this project.
