QuellTech laser metrology in practice
During production of electronic assemblies, particular components, e.g. resistors, capacitors and pins for plug connections, are soldered to defined positions. Caused by increasing packing density of components on an assembly, the tolerance grid of their position is relatively narrow. Incorrectly positioned items must be identified in time, to enable the corresponding assembly to be screened out at once.
QuellTech laser line technology is ideally suited to precisely determine these positions. Together with the QuellTech 3 D-Vision software, each element on the assembly can be captured in a point cloud and compared to the position requirements. This inspection can be carried out in a running process inside the production plant.
