- Getting started with 3D image processing can be very time-consuming for users.
- Some software solutions give the impression that a functional application can be quickly created by simply clicking modules together. In practice, however, it often becomes clear that sound knowledge of the physical properties of laser scanners is essential.
- In addition, challenging environmental conditions such as vibrations, ambient light, or reflections must be considered. Handling 3D point clouds also requires specific expertise—approaches from 2D image processing cannot be directly transferred one-to-one.

Our Approach to 3D Image Processing Projects

1. Requirements analysis
Together with the customer, we record all relevant parameters of the measurement task in a structured questionnaire—e.g., size and tolerances of the measurement objects, cycle times, handling of the objects, and on-site environmental conditions. Based on this, an initial feasibility assessment is carried out. -
2. Material testing
Request for a material sample for a free initial measurement. This serves as proof of concept and checks the optical suitability of the material for the planned measurement task. -
3. Concept development
Creation of an initial technical implementation concept, coordination and testing with the customer, and a first cost estimate. Certain subtasks of the integration—e.g., handling the measurement objects via linear or rotary axes—can also be taken over by the customer if they have the relevant experience. -
4. After commissioning:
creation of the complete solution, including on-site implementation and user training. -
5. Remote support
after implementation in live operation.
